This is a gorgeous antique 18k gold & enamel locket with a pansy flower. In the Victorian era, the pansy primarily meant "I am thinking of you" or "loving thoughts," derived from the French word pensée ("thought" or "recollection"). The enamel is in pristine condition, the locket opens and closes safely to reveal the original glass. This is a special sentimental treasure from the Victorian era, circa 1880.
